ABOUT OUR CHURCH
Second Baptist Church of Redlands is the first and oldest African American Baptist Church in the City of Redlands, being founded in l892. The Church has made a substantial contribution to the City of Redlands and the Inland Empire, spiritually and culturally. As a city landmark, the church has it's historic roots dating back to former slaves that pioneered their way to freedom and providing a place for the African to worship in a native expression of their own. Historically, the church has a rich history of great Gospel music, great cooks, great preaching and community outreach.
Today, Second Baptist of Redlands is ecletic in it's membership reaching all people groups and backgrounds. We are a breath of fresh air where many Redlands University students attend and feel at home away from home. It has been a place that has networked with the Redlands City Police Department for the past 26 years under the leadership of Pastor Anthony Green, who serves as a Police Chaplain and mediation for many community conflicts. Second Baptist has a vision to build for the future and build strong families.
Second Baptist Church has been like an Oak Tree that stands tall and whose roots run deep with the Gospel of Jesus Christ, standing through many generations and where many generations have eaten of it's fruit of salvation and healing. It continues to be a strong voice in the community and the nation for reaching and restoring broken lives.
It's none traditional worship style, church drama, puppet ministry, Bible Study, teen outreach, Midnight basketballs, school of ministry and strong prayer base has been a beacon light in a dark and dying world for over 120 Years. To God Be the Glory for the great things He has done!

PASTORS ANTHONY AND JACKIE GREEN AND FAMILY
Pastors Anthony W. Green and Bishop Dr. Jackie L. Green continue to be pacesetters in the Body of Christ, ministering and overseeing thepeople of God wherever The Call mandates. They have pastored together at the Second Baptist Church since l983 to l995 and they were called back to continue leading the ministry in l999 to the present. They have served for twenty-six years in the Redlands, California area, bridging the gender gaps, racially and spiritually in the
Body of Christ in that region.
In 2002, Dr. Jackie Green accepted the call to plant a congregation in Phoenix, Arizona, also being publicly set as an apostle of the Lord. She began a work in the desert flying back and forth for over ten years. She is Founder and former Senior Pastor of the New Generation Christian Fellowship Church of Phoenix, Arizona, now in it's tenth year of ministry.
As a pastoral family, they have raised four children, and many spiritual children. They have been used by
God to pioneer many new prototypes
in worship, drama, church planting
and spiritual mentoring. Pastor Anthony Green is unique vessel that has beena spiritual father to many young men and has taken many of them into his home through the
years. His background in rehabilitative ministry and police chaplaincy has blessed the lives of many young men and women, and many of them are preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ today.
In July of 2006, Dr. Jackie Green was consecrated as a Bishop by the International Council of Covenant Churches of Mackinaw, Illinois by Archbishop Mark A. DuBois. She now serves in other capacities helping to strengthen many local churches, especially through her curriculum,
and her international ministry, JGM-Enternational PrayerLife
Institute headquartered now in Redlands, CA. Bishop Green is an author and oversees Jackie Green Publishing Enterprises.
In 2013 the Greens will be celebrating their 40th year of marriage. Their children are all young adults now, serving the Lord in various areas of ministry. They have 13 righteous
grand seeds in the USA and Malawi, Africa.
